Capping Rail

The top of your fence is one of the first things people notice. A Durapost capping rail runs along the length of the fence above the panels, tying the whole installation together with a neat, defined finish that looks well from the street and from the garden.

Without a capping rail, the top edge of a fence panel is exposed — open to the weather, less tidy in appearance, and more prone to wear over time. The capping rail solves all of that in one step. It covers the top of the panels, protects the upper edge from rain and moisture, and gives the fence line a finished, intentional look that makes a real difference to the overall quality of the installation.

At Creative Landscaping Works, we supply the complete Durapost fencing range to homeowners, landscapers, and contractors across Donegal and the North West. The capping rail is one of the finishing touches that separates a properly installed Durapost fence from a basic one — and at €28.00 per length, it is an easy addition to any fencing order.

Designed to Work With the Durapost System

The Durapost capping rail is a FenceMate product, built specifically for the Durapost fencing system. Each rail is 65mm wide and 1.83m long — matching the standard width of Durapost fence panels. As a result, it fits directly across the top of each panel without cutting or modification on a standard installation.

For the best result, fix the capping rail to the panels using capping rail clips. The galvanised steel clips hold the rail firmly in position and stop it shifting in wind or pulling away over time. We stock capping rail clips separately in bags of 10 — add them to your order at the same time to have everything you need for a complete, secure installation.

Two Colours to Match Your Fence

The capping rail comes in two colours that match the full Durapost range. Grey suits contemporary properties, modern garden schemes, and darker panel finishes. It pairs well with anthracite posts and fittings for a clean, coordinated look. Olive gives a softer, more natural tone that works alongside timber-effect panels, painted render, and planting-heavy garden styles.

Whichever colour you choose, the capping rail gives your fence a finished appearance that holds up in Ireland’s wet, windy weather without warping, cracking, or fading.
