Tobermore Tegula Paving

Tobermore Tegula block paving is the go-to choice for Irish homeowners who want the charm of traditional cobbled paving. Without the uneven surfaces and high maintenance that come with genuine reclaimed stone.

Tobermore create Tegula using a unique ageing process that gives each block an authentic antique appearance straight from the pack. The result is a driveway or pathway that looks like it has been there for generations. With the durability and consistency of modern manufactured paving. You get the best of both worlds, which is why Tegula is one of the most widely used block paving across Ireland and the UK.

At Creative Landscaping Works, we specify Tegula regularly for homeowners who want a classic, high-quality finish.

Reduced Efflorescence — A Real Practical Advantage

One of the less talked-about benefits of Tobermore Tegula is its significantly reduced efflorescence compared to other block paving products on the market. Efflorescence — the white, chalky residue that sometimes appears on new concrete paving — can be frustrating to deal with, particularly in Ireland’s damp climate. Tobermore’s specialist approach during manufacturing reduces this considerably, so your Tegula driveway looks clean and well-finished from the start.

Three Format Options to Suit Your Project

Tobermore Tegula comes in three layout formats, giving you flexibility across different project types and sizes.

Tegula 50mm uses two block sizes — 175 x 140 x 50mm and 140 x 140 x 50mm — for a classic, varied laying pattern on residential driveways and garden paths.

Tegula Trio 50mm brings all three sizes together in one pack — 197 x 173 x 50mm, 173 x 173 x 50mm, and 130 x 173 x 50mm. The Trio format creates a richer, more complex surface pattern with greater visual depth. It works especially well on larger areas where variety in the laying pattern adds to the overall character of the scheme.

Tegula 60mm uses a heavier 60mm depth — 208 x 173 x 60mm and 173 x 173 x 60mm — suited to driveways and areas that carry regular vehicle traffic. The added depth gives extra strength and longevity underfoot and under wheel.

Eight Colours for Every Property Style

Tegula’s broad colour range is one of its greatest strengths. With eight options to choose from, you can match Tegula to virtually any Irish property — from traditional stone cottages to contemporary new builds.

Bracken gives a warm, sandy brown tone that pairs naturally with rendered and stone-faced properties. Brindle blends warm brown and grey tones for a more mixed, traditional cobblestone effect. Cedar is a rich reddish-brown that adds warmth and depth to traditional schemes. Charcoal delivers a bold, dark grey finish suited to modern builds with dark render and contemporary joinery. Golden brings a warm yellow tone that works well alongside natural stone and sandstone properties. Heather offers a purple-grey mid-tone that suits both traditional and contemporary settings equally well. Natural is a clean, neutral grey that keeps the focus on the texture and pattern of the laying scheme. Slate is a deeper, cooler grey for schemes where you want a strong, defined colour with a classic edge.

All eight colours use vibrant, long-lasting pigments that hold up well through Ireland’s wet winters and changeable summers.
