Wooden Rope Bridge with Climb Net – Playframe Connector Kit Ireland

Link two play towers with this wooden rope bridge and climb net kit. The kit includes ropes, side nets, metal connectors, screws, and caps — so you source the timber locally and build your own bridge. Timber is not included.

Connect Two Play Towers with One Kit

The wooden rope bridge kit gives children a genuine crossing adventure between two play towers or tree houses. Because it combines a V-rope walkway with side climb nets, children develop balance and coordination while they play. As a result, crossing the bridge becomes one of the most popular features on any playframe setup — not just a passageway, but a destination in itself.

We stock this kit at our Letterkenny showroom and deliver it across Ireland and Northern Ireland. It suits most playframe configurations, so whether you build from scratch or add it to an existing setup, it fits into your garden play area with ease.

What Comes in the Kit

The kit includes everything except the timber, which you source locally to suit your specific platform heights. Inside the box you get:

  • Pre-knotted polypropylene rope — UV treated for outdoor durability
  • Side climb nets
  • Solid metal connectors with bright blue powder coat finish
  • Screws and fixing caps
  • Assembly instructions

Note: colours of rope fixings may vary slightly from the product images.

Why the V-Shape Design Works So Well

The V-shape of the rope bridge gives children a slight physical challenge as they cross. Because the sides angle outward, children grip the side nets for balance while they walk the rope base. This builds motor skills, coordination, and physical confidence in a way that flat play surfaces simply cannot match. In addition, the V-design creates a natural funnel shape that suits children of varying heights and ages.

The side climb nets add another play dimension. Rather than just walking across, children also climb up onto the bridge from the side — so the bridge works as both a connector and a standalone climbing feature.

What Platform Heights Does It Suit?

This bridge connects two play towers with equal platform heights. For most residential garden playframes, that means platforms at a consistent height across both towers. Before you build, check that both platforms sit at the same level. That way, the bridge sits level and the metal connectors align correctly at each end.

If you need advice on platform compatibility or timber sizing, our team in Letterkenny is happy to talk it through with you. Call us on 074 9205039 or visit our showroom at Lisnenan, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.

Metal Connectors That Hold Firm

We supply solid metal connectors with a bright blue powder coat finish as part of the kit. These fix the bridge firmly between both towers and carry the rope tension and dynamic loads from children crossing. Because the powder coat finish protects the metal from moisture and rust, it stays solid through Irish outdoor conditions year after year. Once you tighten the connectors correctly during assembly, the bridge holds its position throughout active use.

Maintenance and Safety Checks

Once you install the bridge, check the metal connector fixings periodically to confirm everything stays tight. Because outdoor play equipment faces constant movement and seasonal temperature changes, a quick visual inspection every few months keeps the structure safe and reliable. The polypropylene ropes resist weather well, but wipe down the surface occasionally to remove dirt or debris that builds up with regular use.

For public or commercial playground installations, carry out formal safety checks in line with EN1176 playground equipment standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy timber separately? Yes. The kit supplies all ropes, nets, connectors, screws, and caps. You source the timber locally to match your specific platform height and span. Because timber sizes vary by project, sourcing it locally gives you more control over the finished result.

What age does this bridge suit? It suits children aged 4 and up. Because it requires balance and coordination to cross, younger children benefit from adult supervision, especially during the first few uses.

Does the bridge fit any playframe? It suits most playframes with equal platform heights at both towers. Check your platform heights match on both sides before you start building, so the connectors align and the bridge sits level.

Can I buy this kit without towers? Yes. You can buy the rope bridge kit on its own and integrate it with towers or frames you already own. That makes it a cost-effective way to add a new feature to an existing play area.

How do I maintain the rope bridge? Check the metal fixings regularly to confirm they stay tight. Wipe down the ropes and nets periodically to remove dirt. Because the polypropylene ropes carry UV treatment, they hold up well outdoors without needing any special products.

Do you deliver across Ireland? Yes. We deliver from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, to addresses across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Contact us on 074 9205039 for availability and delivery times.
